"mullet with headlights?"

i think literal videos RULE. they are generally 80's music videos which are reworked and described as like "Mystery Science Theater" meets VH1's "Pop-Up Video."

the magic happens when you take a music video and replace the lyrics with a narration of exactly what's going on in the video--scene by scene.

i've posted before about literal-version videos (a-ha's "take on me" and tears for fears' "head over heels") but i think this one by bonnie tyler might just take the cleverness cake. it does take a few minutes to warm up, but once it gets into it's groove it's ON FIRE.

you really need to find five minutes and 33 seconds if only to see the part starting at 2:50.

PLUS, the world hasn't seen such a spectacular feathered 'do since bonnie did it up right here:

P.S. also found this bad boy--the vocals aren't great, but it made me laugh. repeatedly.

Ok, so I will give it to you that they are funny and a cool idea----but I had to turn off the sound, as I COULD NOT stand the singing of the girl---(just bad) or the guys---(worse).

They need to at least find better singers----just sayin.

I just watched that Bonnie Tyler video the other day and laughed my butt off WITHOUT the literal translation! So weird and yes, slightly creepy innuendos.

Double Doors - OPEN!

I used to have the BIGGEST crush on Steve Perry. (I was actually saving that one for my therapist)

She just peed on the floor. Needs to find a mop. I love it! (Although that video really makes NO sense. the original, I mean. I'm sure I loved it in '85, but...why???)
