i'm not sure why it speaks to me so--because i freaking HATED the original version by sir lionel richie.
but, boy! this music video sure displays the majesty of lionel's acting skillz. and his impressive collection of bill cosby sweaters. (are those shoulder pads in there? just wondering...)

I had never seen the original video, which is a crying shame. It's breathtaking. I had no idea Mr. Richie was such an amazing actor.
I say yes on the shoulder pads.
And I want to know where that sculpture is of L.R.'s head. I think it would go nicely in my new front room.

He is so yummy...if only that didn't sound so bad coming from someone of my age...I don't know how Rachel could ever choose between Jesse and Finn....sigh...I swear I think Glee is real...

My favorite things about the video:
1- Lionel Richie is stalking a blind girl. Creepy.
2- Lionel Richie is a professor (at first I thought it was a high school... added creepiness) in love with a student. Creepy.
Favorite thing about the Glee version:
It was even better than the original. That is saying a lot coming from a child of the '80's who takes cheesy love ballads very seriously.
