i went to my 20th high school reunion and i didn't hate it.

we had our 20th high school reunion a few weekends ago here in stg and i must say, i thoroughly enjoyed it. we had a great turnout and my man was gracious enough to hook us up with the conference center at the marriott, so dinner was great, and the company was even greaterer.

my friend stephanie was basically the whole force behind this one, and she did such a great job--she looks EXACTLY like she did the day she graduated. you know, one of those girls that we would really love if we saw her now and she's gained 50 pounds and had a face full of untreatable acne?? but the cool thing about stephanie is that she is absolutely genunine and loveable.  it almost makes it so you can be glad she still can fit into her cheerleading outfit. and are secretly sad that she didn't wear it to the reunion.  (oh wait......that was what russ wanted)

stephanie and shannon, didn't want to mc the event and as i have a blackbelt in talking i stepped right up.

the picture below sums up how russ feels about the whole evening as he sits next to me with his eyes closed, praying that someone will rip it out of my hands.

i told him that next time i would just wear a  t-shirt that explained everything:
when was the last time you saw 60 38 year- olds play musical chairs? if you haven't had the opportunity, i highly recommend it as one of the most excellent forms of entertainment.

some things never change, do they? that's why we loved it so much.

here is me, shannon, and stephanie at the end.  we survived.  and strangely i enjoyed it?

Totally agree! I am so proud of you for going!! Shawn and I had our 20 year last year and we drove 5 hours away to join it. (hint: Shawn was class pres. and always feels the obligation, but I'm glad!) It was so stinkin fun! Two thumbs down and a big kick to the rear to those "goody two shoes" who think reunions are dumb, boring and don't care what anyone else is doing in their lives! Shame on them for being so selfish and kudos to you for showing support!!!

My husband's 20 year is in a couple weeks. I always love to go and see all the girls he dated. Most are not as cute as they were in high school... I'll leave it at that.

Oh and I love the pic with you and Russ. You must be as hilarious in person as you are in your blog! I really can't wait to meet you! :)

It was a good time had by all.. I am sooooo gald we crashed it. You crack me up and made it so fabulous! Shannon and Steph are so tiny they could have been appetizers. oh... p.s. jen is going to have to dig deeper than you to find any dirt on me. I was an angel...remember that and don't stray from the story.

I went to my husbands 20th. So boring I wanted to die, but I look good so I had to go as a trophy wife (you know all about it I'm sure). I don't think I want to submit him to the same torture next year. I have never been to a reunion before. Sort of nervous. But as I said, I do look good . . . . . .

Brave, brave girl! I dunno how I'd do at my HS reunion... I can barely remember anyone. Everytime someone finds me on Facebook, I have to pull out my yearbook just to get a clue as to who they were/are!

I have gained TONS of weight, so at this point I would never show my face at a reunion. I've got 3 years until my 20th. Better get busy.:)

I was thinking of you today Mindi. We were in a little family owned an operated karaoke grill somewhere in Phoenix today and the song "I Can't Dance" by Phil Collins came blaring through the speakers. I couldn't remember if this song made your list of "Most Annoying Songs EVER" but I thought for sure it belonged! Anyway, just thought you should know that I think of you now, every time I hear an obnoxious 80's song!:)

P.S. I got roped into working the mike an my ten year reunion a few years back. I probably didn't carry it off as spectacularly as I'm sure you did though. In fact, I think Steve might have pretended he didn't know me:)

Oh Mindi, Mindi, Mindi...aren't we supposed to love our curves and now your telling me they have to be in a size zero...I'm so confused and I look to you for guidance.

Mindi totally rocked the mic at the reunion! Seriously, she is the wittiest person I know. I think she is even funnier in real life than on her blog (you get the benefit of her priceless expressions and you get to hear the sarcasm dripping from her words!)
I wasn't really sure if I wanted to go to the reunion or not, but I'm so glad I did. Tell the RBC thanks again for all he did, and as for the High School BFF comment, right back at ya love!

I can't wait...my tenth was a blast...only 3 more years until my 20th believe it or not (I am choosing not to believe it).

Glad you had a good time! And I think you look gorgeous in that picture!!

I really envy you your Peggy Sue Got Married high school experience. I went to 4 different high schools, so I was always the new kid, never many good friends. I haven't been to any reunions and never will. I guess I'll live through you!

Who would want to be a size zero anyway...not me...not really...okay, it would be pretty sweet.
