jared and jody's backyard film productions-- sponsored by kemp family & clove family

last weekend the weather was beautiful here in santa jorge--during the day it was in the mid 80's and at night it was warm enough to be outside in shorts and sandals (yes, that's why we live here. but don't ask us why in august.) the stars were out and it was a beautiful night to watch a movie outside in jared and jody's backyard.

steve & kamari brought their projector AND doubled as "technical support":

treats and blankets were laid out. mia spent much of the evening trying to feed barkley reese's peanut butter cups.

the older, "cooler" teenagers set up camp in the back by the trampoline where they could do things like text each other from 2 feet away:

then it was time to BUST OUT THE GLO-STICKS!!

fifteen bucks spent at the dollar store = BEST INVESTMENT I'VE EVER MADE.

Dang, 2nd time I get to be first comment, score!!

I am on fiah!!!

Love the dollar store love the texting from two feet away, I guess I am old school, or lazy cuz I would rather just chit chat on the phone.

Although I do sent naughty notes to hubby while he is at work through texting. ;)

There is a house here in Rexburg that does this. And I kind of want to build my house so that a side of it can be used as a projector screen so we can watch movies outside, too.

Looks like a good time was had by all, but did you ever actually get around to watching the movie?

Oh that looks like so much fun! I wish we had come down this past weekend. Then I remember the vomiting and think that it would have sucked. It would have livened up the movie party though!

We tried to set one of those up out here, but we had to cancel. I guess Becky and their fam had one though...it looks like so much fun!

Looks so fun! I wish we lived down there. I would gladly trade sweating the entire months of June through August (which I do here anyway) for the nice weather Oct-April.

Dude, we were in St. George over the weekend and I can vouch for the fantastic warm weather.
I even tried to stalk where you live, not really, but when we passed the Sonic on Bluff Street I said "Mindi lives near here, I JUST KNOW IT."

Dollar store glow sticks are the best. We used them at our reunion in P.V. this summer. The kids had a blast. I love the pics you took. What a fun night, movie, friends, treats! I'm way jealous. I too just love livin' here in Dixie land(besides Aug.)

Gotta love the glow sticks!! What a fun time! Wish the nights were still warm enough here to have an outdoor movie night, but that time has definitely passed for now.

Looks like you had a blast. The glow sticks are a great idea.

I used to have a dog just like yours--what a cute dog.

We did this for a ward party once and it rocked. Of course, I planned it, so why wouldn't it?
