thankful thursday

this week i am thankful for:

surviving yesterday: took what i THOUGHT was my spironolactone pill at 11:00 am. turns out it was my (duh-Duh-DUH.) AMBIEN instead. whoops.
i've never done that before, and it turns out that it's for a good reason--my day was a total waste and sucked arse. i couldn't keep my eyes open. note to self: don't pop pills before triple checking what they might be....

this jar of lana's homemade fudge: yeah, see that? that's what kind of damage i inflicted on this bad boy in 72 hours. yikes.

i don't even LIKE fudge. but this particular jar seemed to be my kryptonite. it also seemed to be my breakfast for the past 3 mornings. and my mid-morning snack, my after-lunch treatie, my 4:00 fix and my after-dinner mint.

pathetic.

for mia's 'rearrangement' of the nativity: i walked in monday morning to find this--everybody wanted to get in REALLY CLOSE to take a look at the baby jesus...

it totally warmed my heart. i'd seen this on somebody else's blog (i can't remember who's?) and i was shocked to see when mia had done it because she usually leaves the decorations alone.

i had just talked with her a few days prior about the nativity (a rare, RARE 'good mom' moment--few & far between.) and she had been so sweet about the baby jesus.

sometimes it's just the little moments in life that take your breath away~

That is so sweet (about the nativity) not the Ambien!

I agree about the little things.

I would like a little of that fudge.

I remember always rearranging the nativity scene at my grandparents. I just LOVED playing with it every year...

Sometimes I wish I had the excuse that I accidentally took ambien. I would then have to sleep all day. The nativity scene is so sweet.

Glad it finally arrived; I was starting to get worried about it since it should have gotten there last week. Glad too that Mia likes it. Hope you do too.

Sweet little Mia. Someone keeps messing with my nativity, and not in a good way. Farm animals...you get the idea...

Sorry about feeling like arse all day, that sucks!

I would have attacked that hot fudge jar with wreckless abandon too! Homemade even? Who's list do you got to be on to get some of that?!

Little Mia, what a sweetie!

That Ambien is strong stuff. I'm glad you survived. I bet the fudge made it okay. And the nativity story is very sweet.

When Tib told the story this morning, I LAUGHED and LAUGHED. I'm so sorry, that you slept the entire day, but hey, there could have been worse ways to have spent the time right?
And the nativity....... EVERY YEAR, my boys re-arrange the nativity. It started when they were big enough to move them, and they are now 21, 20 and 17 and I purposely set it up wrong to see how long it takes one of them to "fix" it. LOVE IT!

I've done the ambien mix up before only it was lunesta, my kids thought it was great!

I love your sweet girls, the sweetest my boys have gotten was the year they set up all the army guys to protect the baby jesus.

Are you sure that isn't your window display??

I'm sorry about the Ambien, although I think an Ambien and a jar of hot fudge is the makings of a sweet Christmas wish.

Love the nativity scene. What a sweet girl.

A big jar of fudge...I too would do the same, making go for every meal. That is cute about Mia...that's what it's all about. :)

That fudge? That's why you and I (and Liz Lemon) were meant to be together. Did you see 30 Rock last week with Steve Martin? That dinner scene was SO me! And you too, it seems.
