russ agreed to wear curve and was attacked

about 2 months ago i was buying some really, really important, smart-people things (translation: us weekly magazine and cheetos puffs) when the clerk leaned forward and i became instantly infatuated.

he was young--i think i have shoes in my closet that have seen more years than this pup--and was fairly decent looking. but when i caught a whiff of his cologne, i was instantly reduced to a giggling 13 year old girl wearing electric blue mascara and mall bangs.

he smelled so absolutely yummy that i HAD to ask him what he was wearing.

"curve" he replied.

curve? CURVE? the same curve cologne i've seen on the shelves of wal mart next to the "perferred stock for men" aftershave & lotion gift set & "shania" by shania twain perfume/glitter duster combo?

this couldn't be. i have MUCH better taste than that.

i didn't give it much more thought until the day after christmas when i was doing my after-christmas retail therapy and saw the curve gift-set sitting amidst the 50% off merchandise.

since it was only gonna be a whopping 10 bucks for the cologne AND the shower gel (SCORE!!) i decided to take a chance on this high-class splurge and figured that we could use it as a white elephant gift next year if needed.

i got home, gave it to russ, and he put it on.

then he walked by me. and that's when i attacked him.

seriously. i couldn't figure it out--why did it smell so good? was there traces of crack cocaine and heroin bottled within? what in the WORLD was my problem? i felt like i was 2 heartbeats away from wearing nascar tank tops whilst chewing skoal long-cut and drinking mountain dew from a 64-ounce refill mug.

then it dawned on me:

curve for men was like what
polo cologne was to 13 year old mindi.....

and what

hollister jake is to kaitlyn & her buddies.....

and what

exclamation! is to chandler's friend abbey's dad. who asked several times what perfume chandi was wearing one night.....because it took him right back to the roller rink and the couples skate.

what's your poison?

I really did HATE Eternity whilest being 14. Every shared cig. smelly, from the back field at DMS. Sprayed it on like Aquanet to cover there naughty after a pre-lunch sluff(trans; stoner-smoke). Then my big butt sib.(trans; smelly Bro) wore it at 19-Yuck even more. Until, the LOVE of my life entered.(yes, my hubby) Now the stuff has had a come-back. As in "Come over here lllovver!". (I quote Dirty Dancing.) Or is it Escape I must confess I like them both.

Never been much of a cologne-girl, so I don't have a "poison" that I know of...My cat, however, was addicted to Polo. She pretty much hated my brother, but if he put Polo on, she was all over him. I think the secret ingredient is catnip cuz she couldn't resist. We renamed it "Kitty Crack" in my household.

I like hollister Jake but my FAVE is Lacoste. That's what the hub wears and I just go all gooey.

Is Jake the stuff that way over the top seeps into your soul when you pass the Hollister store in the mall. The stuff that is basically running down those cute little cabana stairs at the entrance in a deep river of smell. Like the smell. Dislike the amount of smell. Good stuff though.

Last year when I was buying Armani Code for Josh for christmas because I couldn't buy him Aqua di Gio (love it, but I felt like I was cheating on Josh with my highschool boyfriend every time he would wear it.), I was gifted with a free mini set of signature curve scents. While they all smelled so good, I basically wanted to do naughty things to him every time he wore the Curve Soul.

This year for Christmas he got Curve Soul in bulk...a 6.8 oz bottle for only $20.00! Do you know how big a 6.8 oz. bottle is...It will last him until CKone comes back into style.

P.S.
This may be my favorite post of yours or at least one of them. Girl, you were so on, every word had me laughing out loud. How do you come up with this stuff...mall bangs?

Shelly Whitehead in 9th grade wore Liz Claiborne, the classic Liz that came in the triangle bottle. That did not hurt her chances with me.

Hate to admit it, but I still love the smell of Eternity for men by Calvin Klein. That's some good stuff.

I'm a fan of Polo Black, but totally hitting Target today to see if they have Curve on clearance and then to Hollister to sniff out this Jake stuff. My hubs got me Ed Hardy for Christmas, so I wonder if the men's is as yummy!

"Hugo" from Hugo Boss takes me right back - mainly to a hot relationship with an old boyfriend, so I try not to go there.... but the men's cologne at Victoria's Secret takes me to new heights these days! Love it!!

I haven't smelled Curve - but I might have to give it a shot.

I am a Joop girl myself. LOVE the way Joop smells on guys. Unfortunately Adam things it smells like mildew so he won't wear it :(

Oh my gosh, one look at that Polo cologne bottle and I was transported back to junior high, standing uncomfortably close to the boy who marinated himself in it's stench. The boy who would spend the next four years trying to ruin my life. Whoa.

Going off to rock in the corner and suck my thumb now.

P.S. I can't wait to smell Curve now!

I love Jean Paul Gauthier... every time my gay neighbor wore it I about attacked him...NOT INTERESTED! So for Caylor's birthday he got him a bottle...telling him please wear it so I would just back the hell off. (The funniest part about it is when I tried to buy him some more the only straight guy that worked at the MAC counter told me it is a total gay cologne) Oops...don't tell Caylor!

LMAO @ Amy and Lambchops, and MINDI!!!

I loved Drakaar and Cool Water. In college, I had two guys that I liked that wore it. Now when I smell it, I want to puke, I guess because it brings back those bad memories.

I like Old Spice Pure Sport, my hubby's deodorant. Yum.

OMG! Obsession for men takes me WAYYYYY back and my high school/college boyfriend used to wear Drakkar Noir. Oddly, the smell of blue trident gum also reminds me of him.

Oh the days of Exclamation and Polo. Boy that dates me. I will tell you though...if I smell someone with Polo on - I do sorta melt like butter.

Very Sexy for Him from Victoria's Secret, ONE, not Two! I love it when my hubby puts that one on. Any one smelled Beyond Paradise for Him? MMMmmmm that one is yummy too.

Black by Kenneth Cole is a little more lumberjack, but still good....

Does anyone remenber GAP Dream? I LOVED that stuff, on me, not any silly boys.

Drakkar and Joop instantly take me back in time. Good, bad... I don't know.

I still crush on Johnny Depp. Back in the day on 21 Jumpstreet, and today in anything he does.
