memorial day at jw marriott las vegas with the cowans

our biggest indulgence in life is traveling--thankfully, with rbc in the hotel business, we get to do way more than our fair share. the only downside is the fact that our children are travel brats/snobs and think that all vacays should entail a jw marriott. we've often times said that we should really cut our kids off and give them a serious reality check--but then russ and i would have to stop as well, and that's just not an option. we are not into self-denial.
we spent sunday and monday with our friends the cowans at the jw marriott las vegas

this is a beautiful property and they have a great pool --

Loooove Vegas. Wish I didn't live 12 hours away...but I think I'd be in trouble if I lived as close as you do.
Looks like a fabulous time!

Thanks for rubbing my nose in the fact that all I did was go to my MIL's for the weekend. BTW, I love your new bathing suit. It really does wonders for you! I need one of those!

Girl, we were in side by side hotels. We were in the suite at The Suncoast. We live 1 mile almost directly north of the jw marriot. Glad you had fun!

I think I just decided that your husband has the best job in the world.

I love the shot of Faux Snoop Dog. The backside is worth at least ten dollars!

psha...there is nothing wrong about being well-educated about traveling. Think if you and your girls didn't know how to travel...when you eventually did go somewhere, you would have no idea what to do and would be completely anxiety-stricken, end up hating it and not want to ever leave your house again. I give you props for teaching your kids how to travel, making sweet family memories and loving it!

Speaking of travel...Hawaii...? I leave a week from today (wahoo!) and really think we should chill a bit there:)

I keep meaning to ask you if your husband knows Freddie Parker. He runs Marriotts also. U of U location previously and now Provo....residence? Or courtyard. I can't remember. But I thought they might know each other.

Mindi I love you and I want to be adopted by you too. You wouldn't even have to pay to put me through college. OR if you need a bag carrier or a personal laugh track I could do either of those jobs too!

We had such a great time! You know you've taught your kids well when they stop the pool side waitress to order fries and drink and put it on your room tab! It's great to have friends that you enjoy traveling with! Thanks Russ and Mindi! we love you guys!

Sounds like you guys had a blast...and the pool looked fabulous! Funny thing, my friend went down too and commented on a man wearing an all white outfit, plus a white hat with a green feather coming out of it. Could this be the same mystery man?

Whoever patron and patrona is...he/she is my new hero. Because he/she said travel whore and that is EXACTLY what went through my mind as I read this. I meant it in the best possible way, I promise. See, I was raised a travel whore myself...except an airline travel whore. We had to fly standby (my dad works for United) but we went all around the world and we always flew first class. The only way to fly. It was a reality check when I got married and had to sit in the back. Uh, no thanks. So, let the kids live it up while they can. It won't last forever. Boo hoo for them.
